The gift and bookshop
The gift and bookshop, set in the Arenas, invites you to prolong your discovery of this exceptional monument and other Roman sites in the town.
Here, you will find a wide selection of original products inspired by the Roman era and by Provence: books, postcards, DVDs, decorative objects, jewellery, T-shirts and fashion items. Our range of personalised items will also allow you to take unique memories of your visit to the Nîmes Arenas away with you. A selection of books, comics and exciting figurines, games and toys will allow children to re-enact the gladiator battle scenes you didn’t see and to explore behind the scenes of the Roman world.
The gift and bookshop is open everyday and has the same opening hours as the site.
A booklet of games is issued free of charge to each child at the entrance to the “Arènes”, enticing them into an exciting treasure hunt.
The audioguide is an essential medium for discovering the “Arènes”, as it provides details of the history of the buildings, and brings the ancient stones back to life… the visitor, in fact, hears all the lively sounds of the era, such as trumpets and conversations etc. Thanks to the audioguide, the entertainment continues to live on.
The audioguide is interactive and can be controlled at different levels, making it possible to visit the site in complete independence at one’s own pace, whatever the visitor’s time of arrival, nationality or focus of interest.
The system is available in eight languages (French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese and Chinese), and is very flexible, light, easy to handle and takes up very little space. It is currently the best system available for personalising the tour. All visitors are consequently provided with the services of a personal guide, proposing a fascinating commentary on the architecture of the “Arènes” and the captivating history of the entertainment through from ancient Rome to the current day.
