Show at the Nîmes Arena: The Return of the Gladiator’s Dream
This summer at the Arènes de Nîmes, rediscover or experience Arthur Cadre’s show for the first time. An evening performance blending a variety of performing arts. This 1.5-hour show offers an extraordinary performance, specially designed for the event, blending dance, theater, circus, and poetry. More than 200 artists and extras will bring to life a spectacular visual and musical spectacle, inspired by the millennia-old spirit of the arena.
“The Gladiator’s Dream” will blend performance, poetry, and boldness to reinvent the theatrical experience at the heart of Nîmes’ cultural heritage. The narrative follows the fate of a gladiator suspended between life and death, imagining a Roman Empire that never fell. An unexpected epic that will celebrate the grandeur of a historical myth at the heart of the imagination, where heritage becomes a stage and history becomes a spectacle.

Arthur Cadre: Artistic Director of the show
Arthur Cadre is a multidisciplinary artist who recently made a name for himself at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. As a dancer, he performed the role of the “Golden Voyageur” during the Olympic closing ceremony on August 11.Known for his style that blends contemporary performance, theatrical art, and signature movements, Arthur travels the world performing as a dancer and directing shows as a stage director.
With a modern vision, he explores his artistic range to bring it to life in major events such as the NFL, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the 2020 World’s Fair, and “Assayel,” the show featuring the Saudi princess’s 28 horses. This international success was recently recognized with his appointment as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the Ministry of Culture.
